The School System

here SUCKS. Like BIG time. I'm so upset with what we have gotten ourselves into and pray that we eventually leave this place. The schools aren't set up so you go to the school nearest your house. Oh no. That would be too simple. Instead, they "allow" you to choose which school you want most and which you want least. Thing is, most don't get their first choices. In fact, we got our 7th or 8th pick. AND this school doesn't have a gifted program for Sariah. IN FACT, I found out today that their supposed "honors" program isn't much of anything at all and that one of the people who works at this school told me she put her daughter in it last year and it was the biggest mistake of her life. Freaking great, huh? So my gifted daughter is going to be in regular classes and will get bored out of her mind and then her grades will go down and who will I blame. The school system because as I mentioned before, IT SUCKS. I'm so unhappy.

Also, I was hoping that they would test William for gifted this year but apparently, unlike Orange County Schools who, if they see a child who might need it, automatically test them...I have to request to have my child tested. What the...? Do they not work FOR the children at all? Are they purposely TRYING to hold our kids back?

I am ranting and raving but I'm not the only one around here unhappy with the schools. I guess a lot of people are but once again, elected officials aren't listening. Maybe it's time they start...
